Born and raised in Mishawaka, soccer has been a continuous life journey for Steve. After playing soccer at Bethel College, Steve went on to coach at Penn High School as an assistant girls’ coach and later as the head boys’ coach. In 2005, he joined the staff at Bethel College to serve as the assistant women’s coach, which led to him taking over the reigns as head coach in 2010. Steve spent 10 years in an elementary gymnasium teaching Phys. Ed. In 2017, Steve decided to take his past teaching experience and his passion for soccer to bring Soccer Shots to Fort Wayne and the surrounding communities. Steve lives in Osceola with his amazing wife, Erica, and children, Harper and Hudson.

Hello, I’m Coach Grace and I am from Fort Wayne, Indiana. I played softball collegiately at Grace College where I pursued a degree in Sports Management and a Minor in Sports Psychology. While attending Grace College I took a class trip to see what Soccer Shots was and how they worked. There I fell in love with the way Soccer Shots helps kids grow not only in the sport but also in their life skills. I enjoy creating new friendships each season and watching the new generation of soccer players start their soccer journey.
Hi, I’m Coach Keirsten -my love for children’s learning, curiosity and silly comments led me to get a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I’ve played soccer from a very young age, though it doesn’t always show on Soccer Island, thus my love for soccer combined with my love of learning led me to Soccer Shots. I love seeing kiddos experience the fun of soccer from such early ages just like I had. Can’t wait to meet you on Soccer Island!
Hello, I am coach Emma! Although new to the coaching scene, I have always been a fan of soccer. In my home we call it football because my family are from Europe. English on my mom's side, French on my dad's, raised in Fort Wayne Indiana. It is a part of that culture that I've always loved, and It was always on the tv for holidays when everyone got together. I was on a team in middle school from 7th to 8th grade, but opted out in highschool when I wanted to focus on my passion for art. I have a deep love for animation, which has proved useful when working with children as staying animated is a must! I continued that path into college where I received a bachelors degree in film and animation from the university of Saint Francis. 3 years ago, I was introduced to the world of summer camp counseling where I found so much joy working with children and encouraging them to get outside and move. In the summer I work as a head counselor at Camp Whitley. I look forward to making many fun and lasting soccer memories here at Soccer Shots!

I met my husband while studying Communications and film at Huntington University. After graduation, we lived in Los Angeles for a time. “and super instructors!“
“and Coach Leo is the best coach. He always tries to re-engage kids when their attention may be on something else or if they run off the field. He takes the time to make them feel welcome and comfortable.“
“So patient and sweet! They take the time to include every kid, work with their strengths and work on their weaknesses!“
“We’ve had three different coaches since we started Soccer Shots, and all of them have been great instructors, remembered the kids’ names, and did an excellent job getting all of the kids to participate. We’ve already recommended to several friends“
