What can I expect from a Soccer Shots session?

Our weekly sessions focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. Through fun games and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork and appreciation.

Where can my child participate in Soccer Shots?

Soccer Shots is held at childcare centers, preschools and schools, as well as public locations. Our public programs are open to the general public while our childcare center and school programs are only open to those enrolled at the location. Locally, Soccer Shots provides programming at anywhere from 50 - 100+ locations in a given season. We serve families in St. Charles County, St. Louis County, St. Louis City, and throughout the metro area.

What are the weather guidelines for Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis?

The safety of our players, their families and our coaching team comes first, always. If lightning is detected within 6-10 miles of our field location, play is suspended and/or canceled. We play in light rain/precip if the field is open and we are within playable temperature range. We do not play in heavy rain or in cases where wet fields might cause safety concerns. When the heat index is between 80-90 degrees, we play. When the heat index is between 90-105 degrees, we play and increase water/rest breaks during each session. When the heat index is 106 or above, we do not play. When the cold index with wind chill is at 20 degrees or below, we do not play. If the cold index with wind chill is above 20 degrees, we play. Players and coaches are asked to dress for cold weather, including base layer, coat, hat and gloves.

What happens if a session is cancelled due to inclement weather?

Soccer Shots attempts to make up all missed sessions during the course of a season. We will either add an additional week to the season or choose a make-up day. In the case of inclement weather, Soccer Shots will notify you of any cancelations and make up sessions. We generally try to notify you of cancelations at least 1 hour before the start of the session.

Who will be working with my child at Soccer Shots?

Our coaching team is the best! Each coach completes extensive on-field and off-field training that is the most robust training process in our industry. But before that even happens, each person that has been offered a coaching position with our team undergoes three separate background checks, including fingerprinting. We are a Missouri VECHS qualified entity, authorized pursuant to the National Child Protection Act, as amended, which means that in addition to training and certification on the Soccer Shots curriculum, all of our coaches have been verified as eligible to provide care to children through the Missouri VECHS program and the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR).

What type of equipment will my child need to participate?

Soccer Shots provides all of the equipment needed at each of our sessions. Your child should wear activity-appropriate clothing. Cleats and shin guards are NOT necessary unless specifically noted in your child's program confirmation.

What are the payment policies for Soccer Shots Greater St. Louis?

Payment for Soccer Shots programming and related fees is due upon enrollment. Split payment options may be available. Review additional information regarding payment policies and split pay plans during the checkout process.

When will my child receive a Soccer Shots jersey?

Youth jerseys are distributed once per rolling 12-month period, based on date of purchase/enrollment, and are sent at the same time you pay your enrollment fee, regardless of the number of seasons you sign your child up for within that year. If you have not been prompted to pay your enrollment fee, you also will not be receiving a jersey for this session. My child participates in Soccer Shots at school so I don't get to see them playing soccer. Do you provide photos or videos to families?

In general, for the safety and security of all those we serve, we do not allow our coaches to take photos or videos of your child during their Soccer Shots session. It has been our experience that when a coach is taking a photo, they are not leading the session nor are they able to have eyes and ears on each child in class. We ask our coaches to put their full and undivided attention towards the children in their care and to leave their phone/camera for class emergencies only. Your child's school may provide photos from soccer but that is at the discretion of your child's school. From time to time, we send other members of our team to observe and take photos/videos and do our best to provide you with updates. As an alternative, our coaches are available to provide feedback to you specific to your child at any point during the season. Please reach out by email ([email protected]) to request feedback from your child's coach.

What is your typical coach to child ratio at Soccer Shots?

Our class ratios are aligned with child care standards in the State of Missouri. For school-based programs, our Minis (age 2) sessions utilize a 1:8 ratio. Our Classics (ages 3 to PreK) sessions utilize a 1:10 ratio, and our Premier sessions (Grades K to 2nd) utilize a 1:10 or 1:12 ratio, depending on the location.
