Soccer Shots is held at childcare centers, preschools and schools, as well as public locations. Our public programs are open to the general public while our childcare center and school programs are only open to those enrolled at the location.
Children are not required to have cleats or shin pads, it is the discretion of the parent if they wish to have their kids wear them. If your session is held indoors, please wear non-marking shoes, this includes adult participants. Cleats are not allowed indoors. Please dress your children according to the weather (For example: rain jacket/boots if it is wet). We kindly ask children to wear their Soccer Shots jersey to the session. Don't forget your water bottle! The coach will bring all the necessary soccer equipment needed for the session.
Our programs run in Ottawa (Westboro, Alta Vista, Vanier/Overbrook), Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven and Orleans. To find public programs in your area, select Enroll Now at the top of this page.
Yes! We are always willing to start a public program near you. The easiest way for this to happen is for you to form a group of eight children willing to take part in a Soccer Shots season. These could be children from your neighborhood, friends from church or synagogue, or your parent groups. We're happy to help talk through ideas on how to make this happen. Please contact us for more information.
Soccer Shots sessions involve skill development, character words (such as respect, teamwork, sharing) and are filled with energy! We are firm believers that your child is capable of learning something new about soccer and life in each session, all while having fun. Our weekly sessions are developmentally appropriate and follow a similar layout each session: warm-up, soccer skills, fun games, score a goal, scrimmage (when permitted), session review & celebration.
Yes! Rain will not stop us from having fun on Soccer Island! Please dress your child accordingly. In case of certain heavy rains or thunderstorms, we will announce the weather cancellation on our Facebook page and send an email, at least 1 hour before the start of the session - 2 hours if possible. For the latest updates, always reference both of those places first. If there is no announcement on our Facebook page and you did not receive an email (double check your spam folder just in case), it means that the sessions are on, and your coach will make the final decision on the field. If we cancel a session, we will either offer a make-up session, or you will be given a coupon code valued at the cost of the missed session to be used towards a future season.
For all public programs (programs not being held at a childcare centre), one adult per family must be on site at all times. For our Mini program, adult participation is required. For our Classic program, we may require some adult participation so please come prepared to support your child if needed. For our Premier program, no adult participation is typically required.

No credit will be issued after the 4th scheduled session. // Refund - If you are requesting a withdrawal from a class before the 4th scheduled session, you will receive a full refund back to the payment source minus $20+tax, which covers the admin cancellation fee. If it is your first time participating, we recommend that all children be the minimum age for the class by the season start date to set your child up for success with our program. That being said, every child is different. If your child has already participated in an organized activity, he may be ready for the next age group sooner than later. We can always switch groups after the first few sessions of a season. Contact us or speak with your coach and we will find what works best for your little one!

While we do not have an internal financial aid program, we partner with different programs, including Jumpstart from Canadian Tire and Kidsport. These programs help kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities. Families approved by and using Jumpstart or Kidsport funding to register with us will be discounted 50% so funding will go further. To learn more about their organization and to apply for funding, visit their website.
If you can’t make a session, not to worry! We understand how busy families are so there is no need to let us know if you cannot attend a session. We’ll simply look forward to seeing you the following week. The missed session cannot be made up in a different session. Credits/refunds are not issued for non-attendance at a scheduled session.
During our one weekly session, your child will usually have 10-20 minutes of non-competitive scrimmage time with the same children each week. We don’t keep score; instead, we focus on using basic skills learned in our session while having fun.
