Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to our most asked questions including what you should wear on Soccer Island, information about inclement weather and more.

Where can my child participate in Soccer Shots?

Soccer Shots is held at childcare centers, preschools and schools, as well as public locations. Our public programs are open to the general public while our childcare center and school programs are only open to those enrolled at the location.

What type of equipment will my child need to participate?

Soccer Shots provides all of the equipment needed at each of our sessions. Your child should wear activity-appropriate clothing. Cleats and shin guards are NOT necessary.

How do I know the locations of the park programs?

To find public programs in your area, select Enroll Now at the top of this page.

Can I have Soccer Shots start a park program near me?

Yes! We are always willing to start a public program near you. The easiest way for this to happen is for you to form a group of eight children willing to take part in a Soccer Shots season. These could be children from your neighborhood, friends from church or synagogue, or your parent groups. We're happy to help talk through ideas on how to make this happen. Please contact your local director for more information.

What can I expect from a Soccer Shots session?

Our weekly 30-40 minute sessions focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. Through fun games and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork and appreciation.

What happens if a session is cancelled due to inclement weather?

Soccer Shots attempts to make up all missed sessions during the course of a season. We will either add an additional week to the season or choose a make-up day.

How do I know if a session is cancelled due to inclement weather?

In the case of inclement weather, Soccer Shots will notify you of any cancelations and make up sessions. We generally try to notify you of cancelations at least 2 hours before the start of the session.

What happens if a session is canceled due to inclement weather?

FAQ image

We like to imagine your All-Star went to bed dreaming about Soccer Shots—so we do our best to deliver each session as scheduled, as long as the weather allows for safe play. When weather is a concern, our coaches will assess conditions and determine if class can be held safely. If a session is canceled, we’ll notify you by email and provide details about make-up days. You can expect a confirmation email within one week of the cancellation, and a reminder email at the end of the season.

Will my child get a Soccer Shots Jersey?

FAQ image

When you enroll your child in Soccer Shots for one or more seasons within a calendar year, they’ll receive a youth jersey as part of their enrollment. Jerseys are included with the annual enrollment fee and are distributed once per year, regardless of how many seasons your child participates in. Jerseys are mailed directly to the child and include tracking information once shipped. Please note: if you enroll within two weeks of the season start date, delivery before the first session is not guaranteed. If you have questions about your child's jersey shipment or need to request a size exchange, please contact us at [email protected]. Please note: Some Soccer Shots programs—such as birthday parties, demo days, free play events, and school-paid sessions—do not include jerseys.

Who do I contact if I need to exchange my child’s jersey for a different size?

FAQ image

If you need to exchange your child’s jersey for a different size, please contact [email protected]. Please provide your name, your child’s name, your shipping address, the size you received and the size you are requesting. You will receive a response within 1 business day that will include a prepaid return label. Please return your jersey as soon as possible. After we receive confirmation that the jersey has shipped, we will send you your requested exchange jersey. Please note, jerseys must be in new condition with the tag still attached to be accepted as a return.

How will I know how my child is doing in the class if they participate at a childcare center or school location?

FAQ image

This is one of the most common questions we get. Here’s what we offer: for our Spring and Fall seasons, we send a mid-season progress report home with your child that gives a brief overview of how they are doing in class. We also provide an end-of-season certificate that details your child’s favorite skill, game, and the character word they exemplified the most. Further, you are always welcome to come watch your child play as long as you confirm your attendance with the school before you arrive. If you are curious to know how your child is doing beyond our progress report and certificate, please reach out to us by phone or email and we’re happy to reach out to your coach for an All-Star update!

What if my child misses a class?

We understand that things come up! While we’re not able to offer make-ups, refunds, or credits for missed classes due to personal reasons like illness or travel, we’ll always do our best to keep your child caught up with any materials or updates they may have missed.
