Coach Kelly is an amateur zookeeper, and lifelong soccer player! She graduated from Paloma Valley High School in 2017 and has since built the foundations of her dream zoo, aiming to bring education to youth about all varieties of animals! She has worked with children all throughout high school, long term nannying for families in her community. In 2021, Kelly came across Soccer Shots, and was thrilled with the opportunity to work with children and be able to get active in the best way possible, Soccer Island! Coach Kelly loves to be silly and have fun teaching her students about a sport that she has been so fond of for over 22 years. One of her fondest memories of soccer island is seeing her soccer friends learning to be confident in themselves and making lifelong memories in the process! You will often find Coach Kelly cozying up with a book and a crested gecko, or out with her family and friends exploring local hiking trails!
Coach V or Valeria is originally from San Diego. She is a full-time student who attends California State University of San Marcos majoring in Criminology. Coach V has been playing and loving the sport for a very long time and continues to play for the soccer club at her school. Always excited to teach kids new soccer skills and help them grow. Not only as a soccer player but as an individual! One of her favorite memories so far from her coaching journey at Soccer Shots has been seeing the kids smile and feeling proud of themselves when they accomplish a skill. Coach V finds it very rewarding to see the kids have fun and learn so many new skills at the same time! In Coach V’s free time, if not doing homework, loves to go out and explore. She loves going on trips and visiting new places. Also, loves spending time with family, playing games, or watching shows! Can’t wait to see you guys on Soccer Island!

She attends Great Oak High School and participates in several different clubs. Her favorite color is blue and some of her favorite foods are ramen and pozole. She previously played soccer as a kid, including being on a competitive soccer team and MCCS team in Japan. She is extremely passionate about her hobbies, and one thing that means a lot to her is her family. Abbey actually started off coaching with her mom and she was ecstatic to learn from her as this was her first official job. Coach Austin has had a love for all things athletic and outdoors alike! Since he was a kid, he has been often found either looking for snakes under rocks, or learning a new sport. In high school, Austin was varsity wrestler and all star left defense for his local and high school teams. He has also played football, baseball, volleyball, and track and field. One of Coach Austin’s primary focuses with working with young children is teaching them to try new things, and that even if you make a mistake, that’s just how we learn! Austin's favorite soccer skill is a pull back, and the best game for that has to be “What time is it Mr.Penguin”. Coach Austin’s perfect afternoon looks like going on a family trip to the zoo, and ending the day off with the best food, cheeseburgers!
